Possum Kingdom EMS
Next Class: EMT Basic
Begins August 20, 2015
The Possum Kingdom East Volunteer EMS is a separate entity from the volunteer fire department. It, too, serves the northwest corner of Palo Pinto County. The coverage area includes the east side of PK Lake south to Highway 180, east to Hwy 254 and Hwy 16 and west to the Stephens County line. (approx. 103 sq miles)
Many members of the PK East EMS are both state and nationally certified first responders, emergency medical technicians and paramedics. Several members have careers in the medical field and are currently employed as EMTs, paramedics and nurses. All continue with their training on a monthly basis at the department.
In addition, PK East EMS is a state certified training and education center. As such, students can begin their training as emergency medical responders or EMTs and advance to EMT-A through the courses offered at the department. The education center also has several CPR instructors and offers CPR training to the public.
